Helping children and young people navigate their challenges can set them up for a brighter future. Based in Cambridgeshire, we offer both In-person and Online hypnotherapy sessions to support young people with issues like anxiety, confidence, sleep difficulties, and much more.
Young people face a range of challenges that can affect their emotional and mental wellbeing. Anxiety might make school or social situations feel overwhelming, low confidence can hold them back from trying new things, and sleep issues can disrupt their daily routine. Struggles often stem from subconscious patterns, such as worry about exams, peer pressure, or changes like starting secondary school.
Instead of focusing on past difficulties, we help young people define what success looks like. Whether it’s feeling calmer at school, speaking up in class, or sleeping better. We explain how their brain works in simple, age-appropriate terms to help your child take control.
Hypnotherapy can be an amazing journey towards self-discovery, and one of its greatest advantages is the ability to make substantial progress in just a few sessions. Typically, we suggest around 8 to 12 sessions, but remember, each person's path is unique. Some young people may notice an improvement in fewer sessions, while others may need a little more time.

Have you ever laid in bed, the day's events replaying in your mind like a broken record? You start thinking about what ‘could, happen, imagining different outcomes.
As an ex-social worker, I ‘definitely’ have.
I remember some nights agonising over my cases, unable to switch off. Emails, client worries – the list was endless. I was trapped in a cycle of negative forecasting, imagining all the things that ‘could’ go wrong. And you know what? Most of the time, they didn't. And even if something ‘did’ go sideways, I couldn't have predicted it anyway!
Sound familiar? We've all been there, caught in that loop of "what ifs." What I didn't realise then was how much time I was spending in the most primitive part of my brain: the limbic system.
Think of the primitive mind as the control centre for our survival instincts. It's home to the amygdala (our fight, flight, or freeze responder), the hippocampus (where we store habits and learned behaviours), and the other key player, the hypothalamus (which regulates the chemicals in the mind and body). As a social worker, I was constantly activating this area, creating habits of worry and anxiety.
Coming home from work but not really ‘leaving’ work. Negatively forecasting potential problems. It was exhausting! My body was flooded with stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline and starved of those feel-good chemicals we all crave. It wasn't a healthy place to be, and I know many of you can relate.
Then, I discovered Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
It was a game-changer. So much so, that I decided to train as a solution focused hypnotherapist. Now, when I'm working with clients, I feel amazing. I'm helping them empty that metaphorical ‘stress bucket’ that some of you may have heard about – the one that fills up with stress and anxiety.
Before I discovered hypnotherapy, my bucket was nearly ‘always’ full. I wasn't sleeping well, waking up in the night with those same worries swirling around in my head. I wasn't getting enough REM sleep, which is crucial for processing the day's events. Instead, I was carrying everything with me, day after day.
“Hypnotherapy helped me regain access to my conscious mind.”
The conscious mind allows us to think rationally and assess situations objectively. It's generally a positive space. On the other hand, when we're stuck in that primitive part of the brain, we can become obsessive, hyper-vigilant, and constantly on edge – exactly how I felt.
I'm a passionate advocate for hypnotherapy because I've seen firsthand the incredible results it can bring, both for my clients and in my own life. I know how debilitating anxiety and negative forecasting can be. We all deserve the opportunity to manage our stress and find a sense of calm. Stress is a normal part of life, but when we're constantly overloaded with adrenaline and cortisol, it can wreak havoc on our bodies and overall well-being."My journey from social work to clinical hypnotherapy might seem like a big leap, but it actually feels like a natural evolution. I'll always have a deep love for social work and one of the biggest things that is has taught me is how to ‘really’ listen, and to understand people's needs. Those years gave me so much insight into the challenges people face, and that experience directly informs the way I work with my hypnotherapy clients now. And honestly, if I ever decided to return to social work, I now feel I'd be even better equipped. Why? Because understanding how our minds work – how stress and anxiety truly impact us – gives you such powerful tools for managing those challenges, both for yourself and for others.
‘My final though’, What someone else deems a 'stressful job' might not feel that way to you, and vice versa. We can be affected by stress and anxiety from all sorts of things in life – unemployment, family pressures, health concerns, the list goes on. The good news is, you're not stuck feeling overwhelmed. There ‘are’ options, and solution focused hypnotherapy is one of them. It's about finding ways to navigate those feelings, build resilience, and create a more positive experience, no matter what life throws your way."

“Eyes Wide Closed Thoughts & Insights”

Okay, let's consider this. We all do it, right? That mental replay button gets pushed, and suddenly you're back in that situation, reliving it, dissecting it, maybe even changing the outcome in your head. But is it actually ‘helpful’ or is it just mental spinning?
Reflection is valuable,It's how we learn, how we grow. You analyse, you identify alternative actions, and you prepare for the future. "Next time," you think, "I'll do this differently." That's constructive.
But obsessively reliving a scenario? That's different. Are you truly gaining new insights, or are you just reinforcing the emotions attached to that event? Are you stuck in a loop of frustration, anger, or regret?
Maybe the question isn't "What do you get out of it?" but "What is it getting out of ‘you’?" Is it draining your energy? Is it preventing you from focusing on the present? Is it keeping you from moving forward?
Solution focused thinking encourages us to acknowledge the past, learn from it, and then shift our attention to the present and the future. So, perhaps the next time you find yourself replaying a scenario for the tenth time, ask yourself: "Is this serving me, or is it holding me back?"

It can feel like it takes over, right? Like it's calling all the shots about what you can and can't do.
Ever wonder why sometimes a minor bump feels excruciating, while other times you barely notice a bigger injury?Part of the answer lies in the "pain gate" theory. Imagine a gate in your nervous system that either opens to let pain signals flood through to your brain, or closes to block or reduce those signals.
So, what opens that gate wide open? Stress, worry, feeling down... all make pain feel even worse. And what closes it? Relaxing, thinking happy thoughts, feeling like you're in control.
Think of it like this: your nervous system has two main modes – the sympathetic nervous system (your "fight or flight" response), which ramps things up, and the parasympathetic nervous system (your "rest and digest" mode), which calms things down. When you're in pain, stressed, and anxious, your sympathetic nervous system is often in overdrive, keeping those pain gates wide open.
Tired of pain running the show? Maybe solution focused hypnotherapy is worth a look. .“What do you think?"

It turns out there's a very real link between your brain and your gut, often called the "gut-brain axis." Your digestive system has its own complex network of nerves and it's in constant communication with your brain.
Think about it: when you're stressed, your body goes into "fight or flight" mode (thanks to the sympathetic nervous system). This diverts energy away from digestion and towards dealing with a perceived threat. Meanwhile, the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for "rest and digest," takes a backseat.
Calming the Storm Within
So, how can you break this cycle? That's where solution focused hypnotherapy comes in. It's a gentle yet effective way to address the underlying stress and anxiety that might be contributing to your digestive issues. It's not about dwelling on the past but about finding solutions in the present and building a brighter future.
“Here's how it may help”
Taming Your Nervous System: Hypnotherapy is fantastic for calming down the sympathetic nervous system and activating the parasympathetic nervous system. This helps your body shift out of "fight or flight" and into "rest and digest" mode, allowing your digestive system to function more smoothly.
Breaking the Cycle: By learning to manage your stress and anxiety through relaxation techniques and focused attention, you can interrupt the signals that are disrupting your digestion.
Changing Your Focus: Solution focused hypnotherapy may help you shift your attention away from the discomfort and worry associated with your digestive issues, and towards positive thoughts, sensations, and future possibilities.
“Final Though- It's Okay to Talk About It”:“Let’s be honest, talking about bowel issues can feel a bit awkward. But we all have them, and there's no shame in seeking help. If you're constantly worried about what you eat and how it will affect your digestion, it might be time to consider addressing the underlying stress and anxiety that may be making things worse. Remember, stress and anxiety don't just affect our minds; they have very real physical symptoms.
Take Control of Your Gut Health
